In dutch they are called a "duimstok", we in Belgium don't use these as much.

I used to work in the construction industry, and all dutch carpenters & masons used to have a "duimstok".
Nowadays people use measuring tapes.

Kind regards,

We have the wood version (which is higher in price) and a plastic version.
The plastic ones are a bit stronger and are mostly in orange/yellow or white, so if you lose these they are easier to find because of the bright color.

I am a carpenter, and every carpenter/bricklayer over here uses a "duimstok".
We also use measuring tapes but not everybody has them.

Do you want one for collecting or for using it ?
The "duimstokken" are in centimeters over here.
The wood version has some inches on the side.

Schuil is the most famous "duimstok" over here.

I have a new Schuil duimstok i could sent you but it's in centimeters.
It has inches on the side.

I will make a pic later.

The "duimstok" here in Holland is an 1meter version.
The wood type has inches on the side but i don't know if there are types made for Usa (inches).

Do you use centimeters?

We use both metric and inch here. Usually rulers here have both.
